Back in the office at SSRC&M (Science and Social Silences Resource Center and Mathematics) Monday August 17, 2016

The celebrating is not over when you have co-workers like I do.  When I got to the office it was decorated with signs and pictures that I had posted on Instagram.  My teaching colleague, Cindy Maguire, was responsible for this.  She knows how to make people feel good.  It was a great welcome back to work celebration.

Another finish line to cross into our cubby
Now officially back to work.  Nothing negative about that because I love my work

The final six miles and the celebration at the Golden Gate Bridge Saturday August 15, 2015

The final 6 miles along Fisherman's Wharf and celebration at the Golden Gate Bridge.  It was much more than a celebration.  It was more like a family reunion.  The T-Shirt logo was designed by Kimri's husband, Thayne Mickelson.  They live in Idaho and were not able to come.

Vallejo to San Francisco, CA and the Golden Gate Bridge Saturday August 15, 2015

This is so exciting, that so many of my family were able to journey up here to greet me at the end of this ride.

Waiting to embark from Vallejo to San Francisco

Alcatraz Island

The ferry travels about 40 miles an hour and churns up quite a wake

The Clouse clan waiting at the dock

The victory tunnel is beginning to form

Some of the first passengers off the ferry take advantage of the victory tunnel and exchange high-fives with this Arizona delegation

Shelle, Denise, and Angie, the three best daughter in laws any father could have

Finally, on shore in San Francisco

I have been thinking of this moment ever since my kids told me they were going to charter a bus and meet me in San Francisco

The last day of the ride is always the best. Especially when it's with your family

Even five weeks old Great granddaughter Maggie made the trip with her mother Amanda

Daughter Terry Ann

Grandchildren Dale and Shanell Gambell

Grandchildren James and LaRee Kilgore

Even little Gracie, yet to be born in November, made the journey with her mother Megan

I hadn't seen these twins in over two years. Auston and Ruston we're on their LDS church missions in Central America when I started my bike ride

Now let's get this baggage and trailer on the bus so I can finish this ride

Friday in Vallejo, CA August 14, 2015

Had trouble trying to find a motel in a part of town that didn't scare me. I road by some real sleazy's.  We needed two nights here in Vallejo as we're here a day early.  About 40 members of my family chartered a bus up to San Francisco to greet me at the end of my ride. They are traveling up tonight, get here in the morning, and then party the rest of Friday. They are meeting me at the ferry dock in San Francisco on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Was going to go to Six Flags here in Vallejo on Friday, but we had to move to another motel as the one we stayed in Thursday night was booked up on Friday night. Besides, had some dirty laundry that I needed to run thru the washer. And besides that I was tired, so we just rested most of the day.  We also went to the ferry to check things out and purchase our tickets.  I'm all ready to get across that bay, see my family and end this beautiful ride.

Davis to Vallejo, CA Thursday August 13, 2015

Davis is really just a college town. Most of today's ride is through some beautiful farm country.
Lot of bicycles in the college town of Davis. This is one of many bicycle roundabouts.

Bicycle path running parallel to the highway. Just had to be alert for cars coming out of driveways and sidestreets.

New Orchard off to a fresh start.

Ready for planting.

Short foliage tunnel.

I don't know what happened here. Looks like honeydews that have been left to rot.

I rode through miles  and miles. of orchards.

Same field as above only different angle.

Judging from the size of the trees and the style of the home, this farm has been here for a long time.

Plum Orchard

This is a vulture that was enjoying some road kill, but then flew up in the tree as I approached.

Another beautiful entrance to a farm.

Grapes

Can't see the mansion at the end of this entry, but it's there.

Looks like I'm here just before the harvest.

These grape vineyards are so well manicured.

There is a portion of a mansion.

My first glimpse of San Francisco Bay. Now coming into Vallejo.
