Carson City to Silver Lake, CA Monday August 10, 2015

What a beautiful view looking up at the Sierra Nevada mountains and realizing this is the last mountain range to conquer.
Over that mountain is Lake Tahoe.

Haying time.

Looking for food.

There are some beautiful homes in the Carson Valley.

This is Red Lake. A few years ago Alan and I were fishing on this lake.   At around dusk we noticed an eagle circling above the lake. The eagle went into a dive and then was skimming across the surface of the lake, grabbed a fish in its talons and started to climb when the fish dropped out of its grasp.  It was an awesome event to witness.

It's mostly downhill from here to San Francisco and zero elevation.

This tree really grew where it was planted regardless of how gnarly it ended up.

Caples Lake

Near the top of the Sierra Nevadas.

Silverlake. This is the view from our lodge room at dusk.
