Eureka to Austin, NV Tuesday August 4, 2015

Another early start on a beautiful day in the middle of nowhere.
Sagebrush on the high desert

Little snack break under a Juniper tree

Cloud dust raised by moving cattle

Alan finally shows up with the Chuckwagon for lunch

To me there wasn't all that much to do in Austin. All I really wanted to do was find a bed and get some sleep.

I met Glen Plake and his wife just before I got to Austin. His wife was driving the car in the background with a sign on the back window cautioning vehicles that there was a bicycle rider ahead. Glenn was a three time World champion freestyle skier. Alan knew about him because he lived in South lake Tahoe. Glenn was training for a 200 mile Bicycle race from Reno to Eureka, Nevada.

This is the main Street of Austin, Nevada

Meet John the Baptist. At least that's what he said his name was. Met him in the parking lot of the motel where we stayed.

The only restaurant I saw in Austin, but their food was sure good.
